PvE Builds in Demon's Souls
Soul Mage Build Guide: Beginner Mage Build
The Soul Mage Build uses Magic to take down enemies effectively. This Build is particularly good for beginners or new Demon’s Souls players, as it allows them to kill targets safely at a distance without having to learn their movesets. If you've been looking for a Mage Build, then check this one out.
Gloom Knight Build Guide: Beginner Melee Build
The Gloom Knight Build uses a Shield and Spear to pick off enemies. This Build is particularly good for beginners or new Demon’s Souls players, as it allows them to kill targets safely while holding Block. If you are looking for a melee build that keeps you safely behind a shield, try this one out.
Moonlight Valkyrie Build Guide: Beginner PvP
The Moonlight Valkyrie Build uses the now legendary weapon Large Sword of Moonlight. This Build is particularly good for beginners who wish to PvP, or for those who like to co-op and ward off invaders. It can also be used effectively in PvE because of its high Magic Damage.
Soul Samurai Build Guide: Beginner Dex
The Soul Samurai Build is a Dexterity Build that focuses on high damage using an Uchigatana and Bow. If you’ve been looking for a good starter Dexterity Build then you’ll want to check out this one.
Cursed Dragon Build Guide: Beginner STR
The Cursed Dragon Build is a Strength Build that focuses on killing most enemies in one hit. It’s great for new players or veterans because it can be put together very quickly, and makes more challenging enemies a bit easier. This is a Beginner Strength Build, and is not optimized for NG+ and beyond
Blueblood Spellsword Build Guide: Advanced Luck
The Blueblood Spellsword Build is a Luck Build that uses the Blueblood Sword and Spells. It isn’t an easy weapon to put together, so this Build is not necessarily recommended for those just beginning Demon’s Souls, but is intended for those somewhat new to the game that have a grasp of the game’s mechanics.
Soul Sentinel Build Guide: Expert Co-Op
The Blue Sentinel Build is a Build that focuses on very high damage, from the earliest parts of the game by using Demonbrandt and Pure White Character Tendency, with even higher damage while being summoned as a Blue Phantom. If you’re a huge fan of co op, and you want to be useful right out of the gate, then this is an excellent Build for you.
Arcane Archer Build Guide: Advanced Bow
The Arcane Archer Build is a Build that focuses on very high damage from far away using a Bow, with even higher damage while being summoned as a Blue Phantom. If you’ve been looking for a Bow Build to carry you through the game, or you like to Co Op a lot (or both), then this is the Build for you. This is a more advanced Build and is not intended for new players, due to the glass cannon-like nature of it.
Immortal Renewal Knight
Author: Holoyolo
Introduction
Type: PvE
Recommended Strating Class: Temple Knight
Recommended Soul Level: ???
This build is excellent for keeping yourself alive in the game, most of the items that you'll have equipped will grant a regenerating property towards your HP. The high vitality of this build gives you amazing survivability, but it also means you won't be deleveling so keep that in mind before making it
Equipment
Right Hand 1: +5 Blessed Weapon
Right Hand 2: Large Sword of Moonlight +
Left Hand 1: Adjudicator's Shield +5
Left Hand 2: Talisman of God
Ring 1: Regenerator's Ring
Ring 2: Ring of Great Strength
Head: Mirdan Helmet
Chest: Mirdan Scale Mail
Gloves: Mirdan Gauntlets
Legs: Mirdan Leggings
Spells
Magic Spells
None
Immortal Renewal Build Equipment
We are aiming to stack as much regeneration as possible in order to keep our health going up and up. The Regenerator's Ring grants 4 HP/sec, Adjudicator's Shield +5 provides 8 HP/sec, a fully upgraded blessed weapon grants 6 HP/sec, while using the Regeneration miracle can regenerate a max of 19 HP/sec, and in total, your character can regenerate up to 37 HP/sec.
To keep equipment weight within optimal ranges, you should look for the Mirdan Set – it is the best armor to pair up with the rest of the items that you have, as long as you have spent 27 points into Endurance, and have equipped the Ring of Great Strength. As with most builds, if you are in soul form you will likely need to one ring to the Cling Ring (allows players in phantom form to have 75% of their max HP instead of 50%).
The Immortal Renewal build is, as said above, focused on regeneration so we'll want to equip the Adjudicator's Shield that grants a regeneration effect, as well as a fully upgraded blessed weapon of your choice. Finally you want to get the Talisman of God in order to use the Regeneration miracle. Once you make it to the fifth archstone, get the Large Sword of Moonlight since it will help you do damage to shielded enemies.
Stats, Faith and Upgrading your Weapon
As you level up, keep in mind that you need to have at least 20 Faith to get a Pure Faintstone without farming. Once you have 20 faith talk to the Worshipper of God at The Nexus, and she will give you a stone that you can use to fully upgrade your blessed weapon.
Your only concern with stats after faith 20 and endurance 27 is simply to put more and more points into Vitality and reach level cap for Hit Points and Carry Weight.
Where to get Equipment
Easy Equipment
The Mirdan Set is starting equipment for the Temple Knight class or it can be purchased from the Filthy Woman in Leechmonger Archstone.
The Adjudicator's Shield is found in the Shrine of Storms, it is protected by a Black Skeleton after the second fog door
The Talisman of God is also Temple Knight starting equipment or it can be purchased from the Filthy Woman for 50000 Souls
The Large Sword of Moonlight is found in the Leechmonger Archstone where you find the nest of Phosphorescent Slugs. Hit the nest several times and multiple slugs will drop to the ground. Now go to where they've fallen and you will find the sword after defeating all the hostile slugs.
Harder Equipment
The Ring of Great Strength is dropped by Biorr, of the Twin Fangs.
The Regenerator's Ring can be traded with Sparkly the Crow if you give the Jade Hair Ornament, or found at the Shrine of Storms, along the cliff path on the other side of the tower where you get Copper Key. Roll over the broken down tower walls above it should be, near where the two archers were.
Finally the Regeneration miracle, this can be learned from Saint Urbain in exchange for a Swollen Demon's Soul.
Sorceror's Fervor
Author: Maniac2021
Introduction
Type: PvE
Recommended Strating Class: Royalty
Recommended Soul Level: ???
The Sorceror's Fervor build is a magic-focused and spell-focused build that makes full use of Homing Soul Arrow and Fireball. The objective is to be able to complete content using only magic, but the build has options for protection where you to find yourself in a melee situation.
Equipment
Right Hand 1: Kris Blade +5
Right Hand 2: (Crescent) Estoc
Left Hand 1: Talisman of Beasts
Left Hand 2: None
Ring 1: Ring of Magical Sharpness
Ring 2: Ring of Magical Nature or Cling Ring (Soul Form)
Set: Old Raggedy Set or Venerable Sage's Set
Head: Three Cornered Hat or Venerable Sage's Hood
Chest: Old Raggedy Robes or Venerable Sage's Robe
Gloves: Old Raggedy Gloves or Venerable Sage's Gloves
Legs: Old Raggedy Boots or Venerable Sage's Boots
Spells
Sorceror's Fervor Equipment
For this build, your character will rely mostly on spellcasting and using various spells and miracles. So for equipment, we will try to optimize our spell damage. A +5 Kris Blade grants +30% magic attack so it's a great choice, but you can also equip an Estoc that's been upgraded to a Crescent variation. Regardless of your weapon choice, the best equipment for this build is the Talisman of Beasts as it will allow you to cast both spells and miracles since it acts as a catalyst and talisman at the same time. This is a harder item to get because you need to defeat Black Phantom Scirvir, or complete a black character tendency quest for Mephistopheles.
For your armor, we are looking at casting from afar and remaining highly mobile. So you want to make sure that you are able to move fast and can execute fast rolls since you're not really built for melee combat. We'll be using Light Armor and recommending either the Old Raggedy Set or the Venerable Sage's Set. The Old Raggedy Set can be found early on in Boletarian Palace and grants magical defense and plague resistance, while Venerable Sage's Set provides an additional buff towards magic defense but needs you to progress to Tower of Latria.
For Rings, you'll need the Ring of Magical Sharpness to further boost your spell damage for +20%, the Ring of Magical Nature that grants an additional magic slot, and the Eternal Warrior's Ring to increase the recovery of your stamina. As with most builds, if you are in soul form you will likely need to one ring to the Cling Ring (allows players in phantom form to have 75% of their max HP instead of 50%).
Spells
- Fireball: This is a long-range spell that deals high fire damage to enemies, especially those who are weak to the Fire element. This also grants you mobility since it has a quick cast time.
- Soul Arrow: Another long-range spell that inflicts an adequate amount of magical damage against enemies early in the game. It has a low MP cost which allows you to use it multiple times.
- Firestorm: A close-range spell that can inflict high fire damage, especially against enemies and bosses that are weak or have less resistance against Fire.
- Warding: Since you don't have enough defensive properties to your armor, you'll want to make sure you have the Warding spell to obtain a 70% physical damage reduction for 40 seconds.
- Poison Cloud: Why not dish out continuous damage to your enemies? The cloud inflicts poison to those who are within the AoE that causes 5 damage per second for 3 minutes.
- Homing Soul Arrow: This spell is a stronger variation of the Soul Arrow. It deals high magical damage and it is effective against most of the enemies and bosses you'll encounter.
Miracles
- Heal: A low MP cost that recovers your HP.
- Second Chance: Yes, you are bound to die no matter what, so casting this miracle will at least give you another shot. This revives you with 50% HP upon dying.
- Anti-Magic Field: This will help you fight against enemies that use magic. Any enemy that are near the field prevents them from casting magic.
Conan the Barbarian
Author: CONAN
Introduction
Type: PvE
Recommended Strating Class: Barbarian
Recommended Soul Level: ???
If you want a hard-hitting build that deals high damage with a focus on vit, end and strength then you may want to check this build out. The Conan the Barbarian build focuses on close-ranged melee combat, without any ranged or magical attacks. You can, however, make some small investment into Dexterity if you want to have some ranged damage without sacrificing too much melee dps.
Equipment
Weapon: Dragon Bone Smasher or Crushing Mirdan Hammer
Ring 1: Eternal Warrior's Ring
Ring 2: Ring of Magical Dullness or Cling Ring for Soul Form
Head: Ancient King's Mask
Chest: Ancient King's Breastplate
Gloves: Ancient King's Gauntlets
Legs: Ancient King's Leggings
Spells
Magic Spells
No Spells
Miracles
No Miracles
This build is a Berserker of sorts, so you will be going in Greatsword Blazing and hoping to kill everything before it kills you.
Your options for survivability will be:
a) farm and carry sufficient healing items
b) put points into faith so you can cast Second Chance or Heal. Either of these works, so experiment with healing items first.
Conan the Barbarian Build Equipment
Our weapon of choice will be the Dragon Bone Smasher or the Crushing Mirdan Hammer as they deal huge damage numbers based off your Strength stat. You can complement the build by getting the Adjudicator's Shield from Shrine of Storms and upgrading it, since at +5 it grants a HP regen of 8 HP/sec and can be very helpful to continue your relentless smashing.
You can get your Armor early in the game by challenging Old King Doran (although it will lower your World tendency to kill him). He drops the Ancient King's Set that features fantastic all-around defenses against most of the damage types except for Plague.
Ring Slots will focus on secondary stat boosts: Eternal Warrior's Ring your primary rings will be the Eternal Warrior's Ring to increase the recovery rate of your stamina (also dropped by Old King Doran). And later on once you have access to Valley of Defilement, the Ring of Magical Dullness will increase your defense against Magical attacks. As with most builds, if you are in soul form you will likely need to one ring to the Cling Ring (allows players in phantom form to have 75% of their max HP instead of 50%).

Fear the Blueblood
This is a easy-going and simple build. The main focus is in the Blueblood Sword's combos. That's why the high endurance rating, to enable to spam the attack button, either one or two-handed. Since its damage bonus is Luck-based, it is really important to build up Luck. Dexterity, Magic and Faith are just high enough to enable you to wield the sword.
The build isn't very spell-focused, so if you plan to use Light Weapon many times, stock on Fresh Spice or Old Spice accordingly.
The only drawback is that some of the parts of the equipment required can be hard to obtain.
Equipment
The Blueblood Sword is the most important piece of equipment on this build. To obtain it you must first defeat Maiden Astraea and bring her Pureblood Demon's Soul to Blacksmith Ed, alongside a Broken Sword.
The Dark Silver Shield will be obtained after you kill Garl Vinland in 5-3.
The Compound Long Bow can be dropped by Silver Skeletons or obtained in Shrine of Storms as a treasure, past the first fog door, on a tower near a single Silver Skeleton that is shooting at you.
You can obtain the Talisman of Beasts as a Mephistopheles quest reward or if you kill the Black Phantom version of Scirvir, the Wanderer.
The rings are not as hard to obtain, you can get the Cling Ring in Boletarian Palace, past the fog gate near the Blue Eye Knight at the top of the wall. On the other hand, the Ring of Great Strength can be obtained under the Blue Dragon's tail in the Dragon Nest area, (Also in Boletarian Palace), or if you kill Biorr, of the Twin Fangs
The Fluted Set will be your starting gear as a Knight.
