Royalty is a starting Class in Demon's Souls. The classes only determine the starting Stats and Equipment of the player, but as the game progresses, players can freely change their build to their preferred playstyle - there are 10 Classes in Demon's Souls that the player can begin the game with.
A person of royal descent who has officially learned spells. They use the spell "Soul Arrow." Their Soul level is the worst and begins as 1, but they are the only class that begins equipped with a rare ring.

Even though some might think this Class is really squishy due to it's Early Low Vitality & END ( HP and Stamina ). Altho this is the only Class which starts as Soul Level 1 , which is actually Great for a solid focused Build on your Mind.... So if you think about it , it does cost very low Souls in order to level up atleast to Soul Level 10-15. After that the Vitality & Endurance should be great ( Not to mention also , the Royality Class has the best Core Stats as starting Class specialy with Magic/Dex/Faith , also Intelligence is good ). Altho might seem Squishy at first , but then it's worth the long run for sure... Specialy Early you got MP regen Ring with also the 40% Max extra MP from the Silver Catalyst & Coronet.... Not to mention also excellent for early pick-up on that Cresent Falchion +1 in Area 4-1.
If not for the abysmal strength and endurance, this would be a guaranteed pick for most builds. I'd say it's still tempting even in those cases as well.
