Meat Cleaver is a Large Hammer Weapon in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Large Hammers have good range and are designed to perform slow, heavy attacks. Large Hammers are effective against with heavily armored Enemies, as well as destroying their shields, breaking their guard, and depleting the enemy's stamina.
A large cleaver forged from the soul of the Demon "Adjudicator." It is the Adjudicator's own weapon, and transforms sinners into delicious-looking cuts of meat It also steals a small amount of HP from its target when attacking, reflecting the original Soul's avaricious nature.

This weapon feels like the origin of all Quality weapons with how absurd it is

You get 5 or 6 more points of damage for every point in str up until about 30 and after it's more like 1 or 2. Faith gives 2 magic damage a point and 3 every few points and tapers off pretty hard after 30. Points in dex if it's low starts out at 2 or 3, then goes up to 4 or 5 once you get past 20 points.

12 years and still the most busted weapon to date, SS for phy damage, A faith for mag damage, and you can buff it... because @%#$ them punk@$$ bosses. Only remotely rivaled by the fume UG, specifically the ds2 dlc one.

Unfortunately I missed out on this weapon in NG (I used the Swollen Soul - eheheh, swollen - for a spell), and I had to wait for NG+. After beating Flamelurker (man, he's brutal on NG+), I can finally craft the MC. I think it might be the perfect weapon for my build (STR 50 DEX 27 FTH 16), time for payback.

Just crafted this and it's insane. With only 25 Strength, 15 Dex and 16 Faith it out-strips standard +8 weapons. I'll be scaling all three to soft caps to see what happens.

It's a really good weapon but it's a pain to get because you have to go through Skelly territory and miners territory and beat flame boy junk but It's worth it.
Ps: It amazing because S Str, S Dex and A Faith like no other weapon has that scaling and such good base damage
it gets both str and dex x scaling plus it gets a in faith but the most questinable thing is why the heck this thing haas faith scaling and deal magic damage

In case anyone wants some quick instructions on how to get this early:
1. Play through 2-3 (Archstone of the Digger King/Stonefang Tunnel) to kill the Flamelurker and get the Searing Demon Soul
2. Go kill the Adjudicator in 4-1 (Archstone of the Shadowmen/Shrine of Storms)
3. Go to Blacksmith Ed in 2-1 located down the mine shaft behind the merchant near the arch stone and turn in the Searing Demon Soul (if he doesn’t ask for it then talk to him a few times first, then reload the area and talk to him again)
4. Upgrade any of the weapons listed above in this wiki page (which you would surely have by now) to the Meat Cleaver
5. Enjoy Demon’s Souls in easy-mode
Note: This weapon is godly on the first play through so long as your strength is at 26 even if you don’t meet the Faith requirement. I would still recommend putting the points in Faith but don’t feel like you shouldn’t use it if you don’t have that yet.

This thing is so damn good it honestly trivialized PvE on my first playthrough. Rolling 2H R1 was mvp.

S STR scailling, S DEX scailling and A int scailling! Do you need anything more?

Really interesting weapon because it can’t be upgraded so it relies on stats only which is why the scaling is so high. You can’t blame BP for not adding weapon matchmaking when things like this and the Northern Regalia would just bypass it. Even in DS remastered only spells could bypass the new matchmaking but Demon’s Souls is just doomed to forever be twink paradise.

the 16 fth is negligable since it also is the requirement for second chance

An S S and A. That is insane. I have never seen a weapon with such massive scaling. And you don't even need to level up the club or great club to transform them.

The scaling on this weapon is insane, it can truly rival the DBS.
