Temple Knight is a starting Class in Demon's Souls. The classes only determine the starting Stats and Equipment of the player, but as the game progresses, players can freely change their build to their preferred playstyle - there are 10 Classes in Demon's Souls that the player can begin the game with.
A special knight that protects the temple of God. They are heavily clad soldiers wearing white armor with the name of the now lost first temple and mow down enemies with halberd. They can heal themselves with miracles as well.

Best starting class in DeS, strong armor, nice stats and a weapon that has reach and hyper-armor with the strong attack, not to mention the 100 defense shield

How could they not make the starting weapon a Mirdan Hammer, and instead chose a lame Halberd? They have the same weight, moveset and damage, only the damage type is different (slash vs strike), and it would suit the theme so much better.
