Sharpstone is an upgrade item in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Upgrade Materials are items that are used to strengthen the statistical value and to increase the effect of a certain piece of equipment.

Sharp ore. Enhances daggers, curved swords, spears and so on.

A basic ore that evenly increases the power of a weapon. Weapons can be strengthened by sharpstones up to a maximum of level 10.

Sharpstone Types and Availability

Sharpstone Shard

• Dropped by Hoplite in The Lord's Path.
• Dropped by Scale Miners in Stonefang Tunnel.
• Dropped by Miners in The Tunnel City.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in Stonefang Tunnel. At the start of the area, on the left side. Can be visible from the stairs you have to ascend from the archstone.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in Boletarian Palace. Side passage left at the starting Archstone. (To reach this area you require Pure Black or Pure White Tendency).
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Tunnel City. From the archstone, go right along the tunnel. Once you reach the end, turn right, go through the narrow passage. You will have to start dropping from scaffolding to scaffolding. On the third one, turn to your right and drop on the narrow wooden beam. Go across it and enter the cave. At the end of it, you will find two Crystal Lizards.
• Can be bought from the Filthy Man for 500 souls each in Stonefang Tunnel.

Large Sharpstone Shard

• Dropped by Hoplite in The Lord's Path.
• Dropped by Scale Miners in The Tunnel City.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in Boletarian Palace. Side passage left at the starting Archstone. (To reach this area you require Pure Black or Pure White Tendency).
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Lord's Path. Before the fight with the Tower Knight, there is a staircase on the right, the Crystal Lizard can be found upstairs.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in Stonefang Tunnel. At the start of the area, on the left side. Can be visible from the stairs you have to ascend from the archstone.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Tunnel City. From the start point, you start through a tunnel, there is a Scale Miner on your right and a Crystal Lizard a little further.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Tunnel City. After the archstone, go left. cross the platform at the  upper level, and go through a passage. The Lizard is hiding behind a pile of debris on the left. 
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Tunnel City. Take the moving platform and venture to the lower level.  You will find 2 Crystal Lizards in this room, and they will lead you towards their nest.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Tunnel City. There is one after the 3 Rock Worms, just before reaching the Filthy Man.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Tunnel City. In the lava area, near the exit passage towards the boss. There are 2 Crystal Lizards in the room behind the one with a Large Bearbug.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Tunnel City. Just before you jump down on the 3 Rock Worms, you can reach another Crystal Lizard by a ladder. It is located on an upper wooden plank.
• Can be bought from the Filthy Man for 1500 souls each in The Tunnel City.

Sharpstone Chunk

• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Lord's Path. Before the fight with the Tower Knight, there is a staircase on the right, the Crystal Lizard can be found upstairs.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in the Inner Ward. After the cutscene where the Fat Official closes the door, turn right. You can find one hiding between the columns.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The King's Tower. Behind the 3 Boletaria Soldiers wielding crossbows at the start of the area.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The King's Tower. Hiding behind the planks, halfway the right alleyway.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Tunnel City. From the start point, you start through a tunnel, there is a Scale Miner on your right and a Crystal Lizard a little further.
• Dropped by Crystal Lizard in The Tunnel City. After the archstone, go left. cross the platform at the upper level, and go through a passage. The Lizard is hiding behind a pile of debris on the left.
