Boletaria Soldier is an Enemy in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Enemies have their own behavior and unique attacks, killing enemies provide various drops that reward players with items and souls.

 

Loyal Soldiers of Boletaria who's souls were stolen and now controlled by the demons. In their current mindless state, all that matters is what they were trained for, to defend the palace from intruders.

  

Combat Information

Crossbow

  • Fires a crossbow bolt. Approximately 5 seconds between each shot

Long Sword and Soldier's Shield

  • Takes a short dash forward and swings horizontally.
  • Reaches into their pocket and throws a Firebomb.
  • Tower Knight Archstone: If the player is hiding behind a shield, he'll execute a short push-kick. Will break the guard of any shield with less than 55 Hit res.
  • Tower Knight Archstone: When wounded and not being attacked for a period of time, the soldier will eat a Crescent Moon Grass.

Short Spear and Soldier's Shield

  • At medium range and beyond, he'll run forward and swing his spear horizontally. Long range and very wide angle attack from the player's right to left.
  • With shield raised, the soldier makes a quick jab with the spear, followed by a heavy attack.
  • Heavy piercing attack without raising shield.
  • Reaches into pocket and throws a Firebomb
  • Tower Knight Archstone: If the player is hiding behind a shield, he'll execute a short push-kick. Will break the guard of any shield with less than 55 Hit res.
  • Tower Knight Archstone: When wounded and not being attacked for a period of time, the soldier will eat a Crescent Moon Grass.

Battle Axe and Soldier's Shield

  • Two slow horizontal swings, from the player's left to right, then right to left.
  • Heavy swing downwards.
  • Tower Knight Archstone: If the player is hiding behind a shield, he'll execute a short push-kick. Will break the guard of any shield with less than 55 Hit res.
  • Tower Knight Archstone: When wounded and not being attacked for a period of time, the soldier will eat a Crescent Moon Grass.

Halberd

  • Two horizontal swings
  • Slow overhead swing
  • Running attack swing from player's left to right

 

Strategies

  • Although these enemies aren't very powerful, they can cause significant damage to a new character, especially when attacking in pairs. Once you have a little experience, use them to practice your Parry and Riposte and backstab timing.
  • Note that they also have a habit of throwing Fire Bombs and can heal themselves with Moon Grass. In Tower Knight Archstone, if you stay too close they will break your guard with a kick and then attempt to deal a heavy blow.

      Oh they're dead and being controlled by demons.
      That's a bit..better, I guess. Than just killing humans, I mean.

      • Do we... have actual stats for the enemies? In 1-1, almost pure white world, Soldiers take more damage than Blue-Eye Knights. Despite this, Soldiers are listed as having higher defense.

          Having only really played Dark Souls games and just now trying Demon's Souls, it's so odd to me to be killing human enemies VS hollow zombies!
