Faintstone is an Upgrade item found in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Upgrade Materials are items that are used to strengthen the statistical value and to increase the effect of a certain piece of equipment.
Cold, holy ore that shines dimly. Enhances straight swords, axes, hammers, and so on.
The faintstone's power will also cause the user of a weapon blessed with it to slowly regenerate HP. Weapons can be strengthened by Faintstone up to a maximum of level 5.

Faintstone Shard
- Dropped by Depraved One (Shamans) in the Swamp of Sorrow.
- Dropped by Crystal Lizard in Valley of Defilement. Across the bridge, next to the Rat's nest.
- Can be bought from the Filthy Woman for 10,000 souls each in the Swamp of Sorrow.
- Can be looted from 2 corpses near the Filthy Woman in the Swamp of Sorrow on one of the lower wooden platforms hanging just above the swamp.

Faintstone Chunk
- Dropped by Depraved One (Shamans) in the Swamp of Sorrow.
- Dropped by Crystal Lizard in Valley of Defilement. Across the bridge, next to the Rat's nest.
- Dropped by Crystal Lizard in the Rotting Haven. On the boss area, there is a path to the right that leads to more creatures. Midway through this path, you can see the lizard.
- Dropped by a Black Phantom in the Swamp of Sorrow.
Pure Faintstone
- Dropped by Depraved One (Shamans) in the Swamp of Sorrow.
- Dropped by Crystal Lizard in the Swamp of Sorrow next to the wooden bridge shortcut.
- If you have 20 points in your Faith stats, talk to Worshipper of God in The Nexus.

Blessed Upgrades
Upgrade weapons with the Blessed upgrade path from +1 to a max level of +5. This path requires the Faintstone material. Lowers any STR and DEX bonuses but it also provides a magical damage effect to the weapon that scales with the Faith stat. It also provides an HP regen. effect of +2~6 / second.
