Pure Greystone is an Upgrade Material in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Upgrade Materials are items that are used to strengthen the statistical value and to increase the effect of a certain piece of equipment.
Grey ore that gives off a dull light. Enhances straight swords, axes, hammers, and so on.
An ore used to make weapons whose sheer power can bludgeon foes. Weapons can be strengthened by Greystones up to a maximum of level 5.
Pure Greystone Location: Where to Find Pure Greystone
- Dropped by Rock Worms in The Tunnel City.
- Obtained by showing the Dragon Bone Smasher to Scirvir, the Wanderer (Pure White World Tendency Required)
- From the archstone. go right along the tunnel. Once you reach the end, turn right, go through the narrow passage. You will have to start dropping from scaffolding to scaffolding.

Anonymouslmao i shifted to pure black after a while grinding the worms and got two pure stones on the first run. pure luck yeah but it seems it does indeed affect the drop

From Underground Temple you can farm 3 worms that shoot lava and 3 other on the left then return to the same area and keep farming.
I actually got the normal ones but not sure if it has to do with the tendency. It's rare so have patience.

I got more pure greystones than chunks fighting the 3 worms who shoot lava straight up into the air before flamelurkers archstone with pure black tendency. Normal version of the worms never drop either for me.

If I could reach through the internet to choke out whoever decided that heavy weapons needed two of these to reach +5, by god I'd be in prison for murder.

Has anyone confirmed it drops from rock worms? I'm about 2000 worms deep
When farming on PBWT I had a much better drop rate without the Providence Ring or the Large Sword of Searching. Finally got 2 of them fairly quickly
