Sharp Upgrades is a type of Upgrade path in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Upgrade paths allow the player to ascend their weapons and shields to a specific path that grants unique buffs and effects.
Sharp Upgrades Information
Sharp Upgrades can be performed by Blacksmith Ed. Forge weapons with the Bladestone that provides a DEX bonus but at the same time, it lowers any STR bonus. Listed below the table are the following Stats that scales per level for the Sharp upgrade path.
Note : Weapons upgraded to this path can still be buffed with Light Weapon and Cursed Weapon as well as Consumable buffs like Pine Resin.

Sharp Upgrades Requirements
This upgrade path requires the Bladestone material and can be upgraded from +1 to a max level of +5. Each weapon that can be upgraded to the Sharp path requires a certain amount of Bladestone. Listed below are the variations of the material and its location, as well as the compatible weapons for the Sharp upgrade path.
Shard of Bladestone
- Dropped by Silver Skeleton in Shrine of Storms, The Ritual Path, and the Altar of Storms.
Chunk of Bladestone
- Dropped by Silver Skeleton in Shrine of Storms, The Ritual Path, and the Altar of Storms.
- Dropped by Gold Skeleton in The Ritual Path.
- Dropped by Black Skeleton in Shrine of Storms, The Ritual Path.
Pure Bladestone
- Dropped by Black Skeleton in Adjudicator Archstone.

Pure is found on all black skeletons, not just the one in adjudicator

There are quite few weapons here that can't take a sharp infusement on this list such as the knight sword
Chunks drop more in Pure Black and Pure Bladestones drops more in Pure white.
My strategy is to beat shrine of storms without dying in human form (you can kill yourself in the nexus to be in soul form if you don't want to take the risk) to get to Pure White. Then from the 4-2 Archstone, navigate back up through the Adjudicator boss arena and farm the black skeleton right in front for the pure bladestone. Now just go to Pure Black and kill the same enemy for the chunks. If you don't have enough ephemeral eyes, you can go kill Satsuki (4-1 in pure white) to help you get it closer to black.
