Mercury Upgrades is a type of Upgrade path in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Upgrade paths allow the player to ascend their weapons and shields to a specific path that grants unique buffs and effects.
Mercury Upgrades Information
Mercury Upgrades can be performed by Blacksmith Ed. A slight increase to DEX and lowers the STR stat. But it applies the Poison effect that can inflict poison against enemies that are hit. Listed below the table are the following Stats that scales per level for the Mercury upgrade path.
Note: Weapons upgraded to Poison can no longer be buffed with Spells like Light Weapon and Cursed Weapon or consumable buffs like Pine resin.

Mercury Upgrades Requirements
This upgrade path requires the Mercurystone material and can be upgraded from +1 to a max level of +5. Each weapon that can be upgraded to the Mercury path requires a certain amount of Mercurystone. Chunk of Mercurystone
- Dropped by Man Centipedes in Upper Latria and The Ivory Tower.
- Dropped by Giant Man Centipedes in Upper Latria and The Ivory Tower.
Pure Mercurystone
- Dropped by Giant Man Centipedes in Upper Latria.
- Found in the Plague Swamp in the Rotting Haven.
