Large Sword of Searching is a Curved Sword Weapon in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Curved Swords specialize in slash-based attacks, being capable of inflicting a decent amount of damage towards hostile characters without sacrificing mobility. Curved Swords are balanced and can be wielded by the player with one hand.
A large, curved sword made of crystal, with an enormous crescent blade. It was forged from the Soul of the Demon "Old Hero." The rickety blade has become severely weathered due to years of fighting.
The Old Hero is also called the "Searcher of Storms," and its Soul brings its wielder good fortune in obtaining more items.

This weapon is created at Blacksmith Ed using a Hero Demon Soul and one of the following items:
- Claws +8
- Broad Sword +8
- Flamberge +8
- Shotel +8
- Scimitar +8
- Falchion +8
- Kilij +8
- Uchigatana +8

Large Sword of Searching Notes and Tips
- Doubles base item drop rate even when equipped in the offhand slot.
- Ability Shortage does not affect the sword's item drop rate bonus.
- This weapon is classified as a curved sword despite its name.
- You can trade this weapon to the Sparkly the Crow to obtain the Providential Ring, but only if it was originally crafted from a Scimitar +8.

AnonymousI discovered that my magic damage when cadting soul ray took to hits to kill miners in 2-2 ng+. One hit took half the health. Equping the large sword of searching the damage was doubled and I am killing them with one shot. I have the talisman of beasts.

On PS3 Demon's Souls, dropped off a Large Sword of Searching made from Scimitar +8. She still says it isn't sparkly.

I just traded the Sword of Searching for a Providential ring and the sword was made from a Uchigatana +8

The first and last time they made a large sword with the moveset of a small/medium sword. In a metaseries chock full of Berserk references. Travesty.
(I still love this weapon even if the damage is ass. So I put a parrying dagger in offhand and start fishin'.)

Similar to the Penetrating Sword in that it does lackluster damage, but it is much longer than other weapons in its class, with the same speed moveset, making it more useful in lower level PvP (where the damage is still OK). Unfortunately it can't be buffed.

Sparkly will not accept this as a trade. She remarks that it isn't sparkly or twinkly and you get nothing in return for it.
My game could have been bugged, I don't know, but she did not accept it.

it will make you drop more items not rare items if you want the pure blade stone dont use this i will waste your time
I randomly picked the broadsword to upgrade. Despite what this page says, Ed will not upgrade a broadsword +8 (and Hero Demon Soul) for the Sword of Searching. Frustrating!
