Great Sword is Very Large Sword Weapon in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Very Large Swords-requires both hands to be used. This type of sword is capable of inflicting a massive amount of damage, but sacrifices mobility, making the player vulnerable and open to enemy and boss attacks.

An extremely large straight sword. Similar to a large straight sword, but it's too heavy to wield with ordinary strength. Using that weight can blow enemies away. In recent times, Biorr of the Twin Fangs is known as the wielder of this weapon.

  I've had the worst luck trying to get this weapon on my most recent playthrough (PS3 Version). I forgot to drop off items at Thomas so my carry weight was full, and I tried to pick it up, but right as I picked it up, my controller short circuited and shut off, causing me to die, so yeah, much pain.

  The enemies will fell in love with that sword if you upgrade it on the crushing path.

  Dragon is the best for minimum requirements (18 strength to 2 hand)
  
  Blessed is the best with high faith
  
  Crushing is the best overall if you buff it with Curse Weapon (also no need to worry about split damage)

  Unironically dragon infusion is actually good for minimum requirement 2 handed. Can use it over dragon bone smasher.

  Sounds obvious, but this sword is quite good as a Crushing weapon for about half the weight of Bone Smasher at 66 twohanded STR.
