Buckler is a Small Shield in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls Remake. Small Shields usually weighs very little and has the least form of protection from attacks. They are often used by players who prefer Parrying rather than Blocking. Its lighter weight also makes it ideal for quick, agile characters with low equipment weight capacity.
A small shield that is especially conducive to parrying.
Requires a fair amount of skill to use. Lightly-equipped soldiers often pair this with a rapier.

Buckler Notes and Tips
- Like the Parry dagger, it has a slightly larger parry window than all other shields.

Shield-wise , this is the best Parrying Shield due to extra frames... However , the Parrying Dagger seems better than the Buckler for parrying atleast. But this shield is good nonetheless specialy for Nimble Classes ( Mage , Royal , Thief , Wanderer etc. ). Buckler also seems to be the best "Small-type Shield" along with the Soldiers Shield , but due to +extra parry frames ( Buckler should be considered as the best Small Shield ). With Thrusting weapons , this shield excels and the counter-attacks deal insane damages even with just a plain un-upgraded Dagger lol.

Thought for a second that the Buckler didn't have any additional parry frames, i was wrong. Apparently Demon's Souls parrying actually takes skill because you have to parry literally the moment the attack hits you with a parrying dagger.
does this ACTUALLY have more parry frames than usual? it looks like somehow nobody has ever bothered to get the parry frame data in this game.
