Demonbrandt is Large Sword Weapon in Demon's Souls and Demon's Souls RemakeLarge Swords are usually held with both hands and are capable of inflicting a huge amount of damage towards hostile characters but are slow, making the player vulnerable to fast enemy attacks.

A white blade made to be wielded against demons, held for generations by the Boletarian Royal Family.
Paired with its counterpart, Soulbrandt, to form Northern Regalia. The less demonic the soul of the wielder, the more powerful this blade becomes. Hence Old King Allant's choice to wield Soulbrandt instead.

Demonbrandt Location: Where to Find Demonbrandt

The Demonbrandt can only be obtained once per play through. In order to obtain the Demonbrandt you must obtain the Mausoleum Key from Ostrava.

  • In order to do this you must either save Ostrava throughout World 1, or kill him. If  choose to save him, he will show up in The King's Tower right before the boss and will die when talked to. He will then drop the Mausoleum Key.
  • The key will also be dropped at where he died.

After obtaining the Mausoleum Key, go to Gates of Boletaria. Head forwards from the archstone to the large castle gates (Phalanx boss arena) and before the gate turn left. Enter the door and go up the stairs to the top of the tower. Once you reach the top, cross the bridge past the trebuchets to the other side, and at the end turn left.

After killing the Red Eye Knight, open the locked gate and approach Old King Doran. He will tell you that if you can prove yourself to him he will give you the sword.  Players only need to take out 25% of his health. Attacking him further will cause him to turn hostile.

I cannot obtain this weapon since I can't for the life of me find Ostrava anywhere other than the first time you meet him and ended up fighting and killing him while he was a Red Spirit.

      **** me.

Do you know that if you kill invaders with this weapon your Tendency won’t go up? Happemd to me a few times while helping other, their tendency didn’t change at all while killing me with Demonbrandt…

For some reason I have a penalty on the damage on one character and increase on another character despite doing the same thing.....this game is so random at times.

for any player who wants to get overpowered early here's a trick let Ostrava die to the hollows he will drop a key the key unlocks a huge twin door protected by a red eyed knight. kill the knight and unlock the door in the room lies demombrandt and a guy wear the best armor in the game. hit him a enough times to Agro him go far enough to the point wear he goes go back to the room. headbutt him off the inside of the tower to get his amour. go back to the room and take demombrandt. this may take several tries keep in mind that if Furniture is in his way he will attack and one shot you so break everything along the path to get to the Tower. congratulations you are now overpowered.

It makes perfect sense to lock this weapon away until late game but it’s also kind of weird that if you want to obtain it early you need to get Ostrava killed by the environment to get the key which means you need to cause the death of one of the nicest npcs in the game to obtain the “good guy” sword which scales off white character tendency. You really just end up being an a s s hole no matter what.

"After obtaining the Mausoleum Key, go to Gates of Boletaria. On top of the bridge near the trebuchets and go to the right, away from the shortcut and the Fog Gate, to where the Red Eye Knight is."

Are you serious??? Go to the RIGHT? Its "go forward from the shortcut past the trbuchets" or at least "go to the left" but not "to the right". What in the world person was thinking about when he was writing this guide?

Got one early. Accidently killed Ostrava so thought I'd pick this up at the start of the game. It's not good as an early game weapon though, won't make you OP. You need to kill named black phantoms and they dont appear until later, with black world tendancy and they are hard to kill.

So in summary, not a weapon to make you "OP early" :)

Says it's buffable, but it isn't as far as I know. I've only tried with resin and sticky white stuff though.

It already has magic damage so I would be surprised if magic buffs can be applied on top of its exising magic damge.
